The Law of Attraction, Backed by Science

Few people haven’t been told at some point that they should “think positive thoughts” if they want to make something good happen. Our thoughts are the basis for the Law of Attraction, which claims to turn thought manifestations into reality. Positive thinking brings positive results, while negative thoughts result in adverse outcomes.

The Law of Attraction is actually rooted in science, and real-world evidence exists of its effectiveness. The notion is based on the belief that our thoughts send out energy that attracts what we are thinking. This philosophy can be used to invite success in all areas of our lives, including our health, financial circumstances, and relationships. It’s not pie in the sky, either.

Understanding the Concept

The idea of the Law of Attraction is an ancient concept stating we create our own lives through our choices. It’s a suggestion grounded in most mainstream religions, in one format or another. Quantum physics provides a potential explanation for the law, based on the idea that an infinite and intelligent universal consciousness has the power to influence matter and achieve the outcomes we want.

Prayer and meditation are recognized methods of harnessing this power, and the success of both ways has been thoroughly proven through research studies. A study of women trying to become pregnant showed those who had been the subject of prayer had almost double the success rate as the control group. Another study of 22 wounded bush babies showed the animals that received prayer improved faster than the others.

How it Works

The law works differently depending on the circumstances, but it incorporates some foundational factors. The two main factors are mindset and action. The theory of attraction states that we can create a pull between ourselves and what we desire in life when we focus our mental energy intently on doing so.

What actually happens is a little more mundane. When you maintain a positive, growth-oriented mindset, you’re motivated to set goals and take actions that influence your life and help you achieve your desires. Your outlook on the world shapes many aspects of your life, and actively looking for the positive aspects of an issue helps you grow your self-esteem and confidence.

Understanding how the Law of Attraction works can enable you to use it to change your life and create an amazing future.

The law is based on seven primary principles, which are:

  • The Law of Manifestation, which states that our thoughts and feelings create our reality –and what we focus on is what we will manifest in our lives.
  • The Law of Magnetism, which determines that everything that happens in your life results from the energy you put out into the world. This includes the people, things, and opportunities that come your way and the circumstances in which you find yourself.
  • The Law of Unwavering Desire, which is based on the principle that you must have a strong desire for something to make it happen.
  • The Law of Delicate Balance, which states that the universe consists of a balance between various forces and elements. Because we are a part of the universe, we also crave balance, but achieving it takes appreciation and gratitude.
  • The Law of Harmony describes how living harmoniously with other beings opens you to the optimism the Universe has to offer.
  • The Law of Right Action determines that words and actions affect the world around you and the quality of your experiences in life. The way we behave and treat others will determine how others treat us, so being kind and doing right for others attracts positivity back to ourselves.
  • The Law of Universal Influence states that our actions impact everyone and everything around us because everyone is connected in some way.

Applying the Law by practicing positivity, kindness, and harmonious existence in every aspect of your life can help you to have more control over the direction your life takes. You can be happier, healthier mentally and physically, enjoy greater popularity with others, bring about positive changes, and build on your successes.

Steps to Follow

So, how do you start applying the various laws of attraction in your life? You can follow these three primary steps:

1)    Determine What You Really Want

This sounds like a simple feat, but it’s surprising how many people don’t know what they really want. As humans, we have multiple needs and desires. We keep jumping between goals and dreams. To apply the Law of Attraction properly, you must choose a desire you feel passionate about and focus on that.

2)    Believe You Can Achieve It

Once you’ve figured out what you want to attract in your life, you need to start believing that the universe is bringing it to you. When you have an unshakeable belief that your desire will come true, the universe has no choice but to make it happen.

By being in alignment with what you want, you are actively attracting it into your life. You don’t need to figure out how it is going to happen. That is the universe’s job. All you need to do is believe that it will happen, and you can do that by ridding yourself of limiting beliefs with affirmations.

3)    Receive

The third step is learning to receive what you have manifested. Many people don’t follow through to this step, so they fail to achieve what they want. Act as if you have already received what you wished for. This may feel weird initially, but it will eventually become more natural. When you behave as if your wish has been fulfilled, you become aligned with your desire. Your thoughts and emotions reverberate accordingly, and that’s when the universe finally completes the process!
